The Immigrant Investor Program seeks to encourage experienced business people to invest C $ 800 000 in the Canadian economy and becoming permanent residents. Investors are required to meet the three following criteria:
- Have acquired a minimum of 2 years experience in business management in the last 5 years.
- Have assets or property of a value equivalent to CAD $ 1,600,000.All assets are taken into account: bank accounts, real estate, stock market investments, business value, etc..
- Put $ 800,000 CAD for 5 years with the Government of Quebec or Canada. The investment is guaranteed by the government. Instead of immobilizing $ 800,000 DAC your assets, you can get a loan from a Canadian bank that will give the money to the government on your behalf. This loan will cost you an amount of approximately $ 190,000 CAD for administrative expenses and interest.
