Family Sponsorship
Any permanent resident or Canadian citizen has the right to apply for sponsorship for a family member living abroad. Allowing people sponsored to obtain permanent residency subject to certain conditions.The sponsorship process, also known as the family may include family members include:
- Spouse, common-law partner or comparable to a spouse aged 16 or over.
- Parents and grandparents.
- Dependent Children, including adopted children.
- Children aged under 18 that you intend to adopt.
- Children under guardianship.
- Brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces or grandchildren who are orphans under the age of 18 who are not married or are not spouses.
You can also sponsor a member of your family, regardless of age, if you do not have a aunt, uncle or family member that corresponds to the list above.
